Along with her upbringing, Aurora was an influence on Alex. An influence that emphasizes the need for rules, and what happens to those who disobey those rules. Snyder and Soule make the connection clear, showing Alex as a pawn for Aurora, ready to potentially put her parents’ lives in danger.

Country Unknown: Destiny Man Special also spends time revealing Destiny Man’s power formation, his passion for ruling the Destiny Zone and all of America. Several panels show a young Alex surviving in the hostile landscape, forced to learn the ins and outs of the dangerous world around him. However, he is quickly molded into the cruel Destiny Man we know in the Unknown country series, dominating all creatures and creating his society of followers.

The background information behind Destiny Man’s origins is appreciated here, as Snyder and Soule present the harsh realities of a new America. Camuncoli and Grassi’s art continues to complement the brutal landscape with vivid expressions and gruesome exchanges. Wilson’s colors also continue to capture the bright flora and fauna, especially of the Destiny area, but also the hot pinks, oranges, and yellows that represent the peak of Destiny Man’s reign. And Crank’s lettering! also captures the duality of Alex’s personality, a harsh tale of his past contrasting with the desperate reign of Destiny Man.

The Destiny Man: Special features an origin story that gives the mysterious villain more personality. While this won’t move the plot forward in leaps and bounds, it’s a welcome break from the show, taking time to build on the character of Destiny Man – a character who is sure to play another pivotal role in the show. once it resumes in July. 2022 with a new story arc. Fans who continue to follow the series will appreciate its character development, while those who have yet to experience the series may find a compelling reason to follow the dark god of the plains’ journey.
